Woodwork in the home

Many people enjoy the beauty of wood in their home. F.W. Bradbury can repair, stain and polish existing woodwork. Examples of the kind of work have had done are as follows:

Garage doors, window frames, kitchen cabinet doors, built in cupboards, staircases, wood panelling, built in wardrobes, picture frames, dado rails, skirting boards and fireplaces.

If you wish to add some wood work to your home, Fred can also build made to measure furniture. Please read the other sections of the web site to find out more about F.W. Bradbury (his skills and experience), polishing and restoring furniture and the different wood finishing techniques.

Getting the work done

To start the process of improving your home, simply give Fred a ring. To give a rough estimate of the price and the time it will take he will need a description of the work required including rough sizes, complexity and quality required. Sometimes it will be necessary to visit your home to discuss the work in more detail. This is always necessary before giving a formal estimate.

If work can be taken back to Fred's workshop he will do this for your convenience. Drawings and samples of colour will be given to make sure Fred's work will meet your requirements. Some adjustments can also be made at intermediate or final stages of the work, to get the look just perfect. If you are having paint work done in close proximity to built in woodwork, it is best to arrange to have this done before the wood is polished as paint may melt the finish. Fred has his own dust sheets and will cover any adjacent surfaces with masking tape or paper as necessary. He will keep the area tidy and does the work when it suits you.

When the work is completed to your satisfaction a full invoice will be given. You may pay by cash or cheque.

If you are unfortunate enough to get a small scratch or mark on the finish after the work is done, please call. Fred can give a much reduced price if it is not necessary to remove all of the polish.
